About GUST
GUST is the brainchild of ourselves – Gareth and Vicki Underhill. We have been teaching children to swim for 18 years and eight years ago opened our own purpose–built swimming school in Stone. Hundreds of children have enjoyed highly focused teaching ever since.
Unlike other facilities, which often teach in larger groups, we specialise in small groups. We also ensure children are grouped with respect to their ability, which aids targeted progression. Each child’s needs and abilities are routinely measured and rewarded. At all times, we ensure the learning process is fun and entertaining – a swimming lesson at GUST is always something to look forward to.
Fully qualified
All our instructors are fully qualified, with either an Amateur Swimming Association or Swimming Teachers’ Association Level 2 qualification, and DBS checked. Instructors use fun characters as a way for young children to identify their level and work to our own awards criteria, reflecting the fact that smaller groups aid swimmers’ development. All awards are free, with each child receiving one at the end of every term. Parents receive feedback from instructors at all times. You are as much a part of GUST as your children.

Warm and vibrant
GUST swim school has been specifically designed to provide the very best for children and parents. Our pool has a UV filtration system that uses significantly less chemicals and is kinder to the skin and environment. The pool and poolside are significantly warmer than standard municipal pools.
Changing facilities are poolside, and all have baby-change facilities. The design is as warm as the water – vibrant and welcoming, the perfect place to relax with a drink and a snack, to catch up with friends, while children are taught by our high quality instructors. In fact, some of those same youngsters who have enjoyed lessons at GUST down the years loved the experience so much they have now come to work with us!
Parking at GUST is free as is storage for your belongings.
